Welcome to Collective.70!

Thank you for stopping by my new site. My goal is to bring the love of cooking back into your home! I'll also be sharing my current work, whether it is my mixed media art, photography, project work or recipes. All things art and food! We will explore essential kitchen gear, nutritious ingredients, the slow food movement, the "how tos" of farmer's market shopping and so much more.

Soon I will be offering in-home culinary classes which you can see on the Culinary page, the sub header has the calendar where you will be able to browse and select which classes you would like to attend or host! How fun would it be to gather a group of friends and learn to make nutritious, delicious food and share a meal together! All with the guidance of a trained chef. My culinary history started in the early 90's when I was living in South Carolina. I spent a lot of time socializing with families that owned cafes and restaurants on the Intracoastal waterways around Charleston, SC. Fast forward to 1993, I moved to San Francisco to pursue my career as a restaurateur. I attended the California Culinary Academy from 1994 through 1996. Working in and around San Francisco and San Diego as a professional and personal chef. I never did get that restaurant, however, the passion to create amazing experiences centered around food has always been with me.

So, here we are! I recently left a career of nearly ten years as a teacher. I had my second career helping people learn skills to enhance their ability to build a career they love. It was an amazing time, and I learned so much about education, goal setting, determination and mentoring. I will bring these skills along with my culinary history to you in the form of cooking classes. From the basics of knife skills 101, farmer's markets and farm visits, stock classes to advanced sauces, meal planning, cooking for teens and anywhere our imagination takes us. The evolution of these classes will be inspired by you! Feel free to connect with me via the contact form with your ideas and to schedule an in home class!
